I was on Atkins and like you lost a good starting weight - 15 or 20 pounds. We are also similar in our age and height. My short story is that the loss stopped or slowed to a crawl after that glorious beginning, but I at least did not gain in back while I stayed on the plan. Three years later I am on a low calorie with next to no white flour or sugar in it, and I am surprised at the slow and steady loss of about 2 pounds a week, this since last July. Sometimes you need to take another look at what your body needs, regardless of how well you have adhered to a diet, and how unfair that is!!

Getting rid of the sugar and flour is such an important first step on any diet, and may be all we really need ----- that and moderation and some exercise. Glad it's working for you!
