Hi,
I took time off from exercising and watching my diet. In 6 months I gained over 30 lbs. I started at 180 lbs, and ballooned to 205 lbs. I wasn't able to fit into my pants anymore. This prompted me to change my priorities.
I've been back at the gym for 1 month now. I've lost 7 lbs (down to 198 lbs from 205 lbs). I'm hoping to lose 30 lbs in 4 months. That's 7.5 lbs per month (or 1.875 lbs per week). I have to burn 6562.5 extra calories per week, or 937.5 calories per day. My workout is only 45 minutes long. I lose 250 calories doing cardio. That leaves me 687.5 calories. I use weights for 30 minutes, which is another 150 calories lost, leaving 537.5 calories I need to remove from my diet.
In terms of my diet, my breakfast is 2 cups of milk and 2 cups of granola and one banana. Total caloric intake for breakfast is about 400 calories.
I don't eat lunch, and have a smoothie for dinner (smoothie is roughly 400 calories) as well as some other snacks (400 calories). Given that I work a seditary job, I only burn 1800 calories/day).
1800-400(breakfast)-400(dinner)-400(snacks)= 600 calories deficit. I needed 536.5, so I'm very close to my target.
As long as I continue this way, I should be able to lose 30 lbs in 4 months.
My goal weight is 175 lbs.
Wish me luck. :)
