Saturday meant 1/2 a slice of pizza, two mini cookies and a lot of diet tonic water. The carbonation makes me retain water and I should have known better! Since that day I have been trying to work out as I normally do, drink an extra bottle of water per day (which makes 5 instead of 4) and then truly measure all my food. I've taken portions for granted for a while now, and rather than guessing I thought maybe I'd re-learn what 4 oz. of tofu really looks like.
My biggest frustration right now is being so sensitive to salt. It's in dough, in sweets, in bread, in soup, in cheeses, all those things I used to enjoy. I can't even open up a jar of my favorite spaghetti sauce anymore, because the calories and sodium are through the roof! We shall see what the scale says again on Saturday morning, especially since that's when I should get my period... Ugh.
