Dunno what is going on. 2nd bird in 6 weeks that has crossed my path. I have 4 bird feeders and one birdhouse in my backyard so always have lots of songbirds but this little guy looked odd in my yard. I walked over to him and he wasn’t afraid. My little dog ran out just then and a cat I hadn’t seen jumped on the fence and ran. So thought the little guy may have been hurt. He hopped about 6 feet away under my pear tree. Went out about 1/2 hour later and he was back in almost same spot. He let me get all the way up to him and pick him up without fear. He had a little sticky string on his beak which i removed, took this pic, then put under a flower bush by the pear tree where he hopped but didnt fly. Hope hes ok. Laid some birdseed under the tree and put a water dish out for him but thinking something’s wrong. So weird. Lived here since 1998 and first time in all that time 2 wild birds have crossed my path in this way. Is the universe telling me something? Also, saw a bumblebee on the sidewalk on his back on my walk this am and moved him under the shade as well. Im allergic to them but am becoming such a softie.🥰. Ooooo also my baby’s 35th birthday. Made my 2nd cake in 45 years. Looks like a kindergartner made it. Ingredients were over $100. Nuts isn’t it.

Last inbody showed a gain of roughly 1 pound of muscle in legs (combined) but lost 1/2 pound in arms and torso. So overall gain of 1/2 pound of muscle and must work upper body more diligently. Trainer didnt believe me when i said arms were at 100% on last reading so she pulled it up and was so surprised i had lost muscle indeed. Also have been hovering more often than not at 138 which is the highest of my 135-138 window im allowing myself but have been able to consume about 1300-1400 calories a day to maintain vs 1100 ish i had been having to stay at. Trying to keep my inner fat kid quiet as she keeps whispering to me that 128 pounds would be a great number. I know this isn’t true. Does anyone else have thoughts like that? Overall i take this as a win. Cheers to all my American and non-American friends 💕

One of my oldest friends of 30 years who is like a brother to me stopped by. Last time i saw him was 4 months ago when taking in for his colonoscopy. At that time he told me his A1C was 13 and his doc prescribed mounjaro. He has had a significant weight problem for all 30 years I have known him. He has a fantastically handsome movie star face even now at 58 and is large boned but always about 80-100 pounds overweight. Well he had lost about 20 pounds prior to seeing him in February and today i was gob smacked. He is wearing size 34 jeans!!!! He looks like he lost about 15 years of age in his face as well. He had lost another 40 pounds. He is 6’2 and 204 pounds today. The biggest takeaway from our lovely visit was something profound he said. We were talking about stress at work relating to diet and exercise and he said something like, i am very strong willed and stubborn and i just kept going no matter how bad i felt. I didnt know i could feel this good. He left our industry in January. Money isn’t everything if one feels too ill to slow down and enjoy life and movement. His A1c is now 6. Almost out of danger zone. Ive said it before, i miss my paycheck so much. I do. I can afford to be retired but if I hadn’t been forced to take a time out i would have worked till 65 im sure (if i lived that long which was questionable). But at what cost? More zero’s in the bank account, more illness, more immobility, more stress. I wish i would have at least slowed down 10 years ago when first starting on prednisone and fought harder to stay fit. Feeling fit feels much better than feeling fat. Or sick. Or exhausted. It really does. Im very grateful. Grateful for my returning health. Grateful for my friends return to a health I have never seen in him before.
