I started essentially what is Atkin's diet, but really came from "Your Fat Can Make You Thin" by Dr. Calvin Ezrin. Dr Ezrin advocates less fat and 40g carbs daily from beginning till you lose your desired weight. Atkins advocates 20g carbs daily thru the induction phase (2 weeks) then up to 30 or 40...can't remember exactly.
Anyway, I started on January 2nd and weighed in at 261. Today is January 9th and I weighed in at 253 this morning for an 8 lb loss! I'm so determined not to cheat. I'm well in ketosis and happy about it. The only problem is that I'm exhausted. I know this is normal for the first part of ketosis and I know the energy will kick in soon. Just waiting patiently for that to happen. I wish it would hurry!
