Bionici's Journal, 29 Jul 24

Been off the regimen for a couple of days. But, today was the worst, and will be back at it tomorrow. Yesterday, there was not all that bad except for a lots of carbs and salt. Today, I played in a golf tournament where there was just too much good food available plus all of the snacks. I didn't even attempt to record all of the food. Needless to say in combination with yesterday's Sunday lunch, the result will be a short term increase in weight.

Having said all of that, I'll be back to a softer, possibly liquid food, diet for a couple of days. Tuesday, one of my molars is being extracted due to some infection from an older crown that has gone bad. I asked about antibiotics, but was told it was only a temporary measure and the infection would come back. The bone is infected, and the tooth needs to be removed. The extraction does not bother me. It is just something else with which to contend. Having a post put in is not that big a deal. However, the probability of a bone graft does.

Wednesday, my wife goes back for her 2nd cataract surgery, and then she will have that issue mitigated. The 1st surgery 2 weeks ago was successful, and she loves the new "eye". Having been there, I certainly know the feeling.

Everybody have a great rest of the week. Friday, we go to Louisville to a family event. One of my wife's nieces is having her 50th wedding anniversary. We just had ours 2 years ago. My wife's niece is just a few years younger than her, and got married at 17. Life goes by quickly. God is good !!

I hope the bad crown doesn't cause too much problems. Sent a prayer for you and your wife.

MorticiaAddams, thank you. I've never had a root canal & crown go bad after several years of use. But, this one did and the bone is infected. The dentist extracted the crown & tooth. Thankfully, there was no pain in the extraction, just the annoyance & slight ache. My wife's 2nd cataract was removed & the lens replaced. She is so grateful to be able to have the "new vision". She no longer needs to wear glasses (other than occasionally readers), and that is so much of an improvement. We are looking forward to our trip to Louisville to see family. It is a great city.
