Today I went back to the gym. Normally when I'm gone from the gym, I've gained or stayed the same weight and haven't lost too much strength- just mostly need a few days to get back into it. Normally when I'm out more than a few weeks, I'm making myself go light because I know how sore I'm going to be and I want to ease back into it. This time was different. I went back weighing 40 pounds less. No doubt that some of the loss was muscle. Didn't have to tell myself to "go light"... I felt very wimpy but I'm proud of myself. Anxious to see how well my muscle memory will work. 💪🏼🏋‍♀️🤸‍♂️

If you have the foundation of strength, you are already on the right path. You got this.

I actually love that feeling of muscle soreness from a good workout. It’s how i know i actually worked out instead of going thru the motions. You are going to be surprised how fast you get stronger while losing weight

I didn’t think you’d like home workouts. But also didn’t realize you were away from the gym so long. Do you think you will keep going now? I also didn’t realize you also dropped 40 pounds…that’s a lot!! 👍🏻 How much do you hope to lose DP?

Congratulations on going back to the gym!! Can't wait to see what happens after you continue to go! On one hand, home gym vs gym at a place (can't think of the right word) home gym is harder for me personally because home gym is associated with your home space. It's easy to say "maybe later" and later never happens. Key for home gym is to have 1 space associated with exercise. Can be a problem if you don't have the space for home gym. Gym at a place is that one thing that you do there, there's alot of perks to this. I personally found gyms to be more motivating then home gyms, being surrounded by like minded people, availability of equipment, a designated place to lose your head into a workout... Problem is we are 40 mins from any given town so this wasn't really an option for us.

DAZEY, I agree. I'm always pushing a bit harder in public. The home stuff got me through covid though.

Hurray for you, it must feel great! I haven't worked out in years, just swiming. But physical therapy changed that pretty quickly, though I'm not doing free weights, just stuff you guys would consider workouts for wimps & you'd be right. But it's working & I'm sleeping in my bed again (though still carefully).
