Thanks! Saturday night was a bit bad, but I think knocking my RDI back to 1400 (advised by person-trainer) seems to be doing the trick. How was your hens party?!

It was incredibly loose. Nothing too bad I'm very happy to say. One of my bridesmaids hasn't had a drink since January, she got wasted and provided the entertainment for the evening so I was mostly left alone :-) Hey that's good if it's working for you and it still seems like a pretty decent RDI to work with. Onwards and downwards eh? haha

Well, that sounds like a turned out to be a fun evening despite your initial reservations about it. I think its the parties like my friend's one, and the other ones you see around the city that are really off-putting! When is the big day? And yes, my RDI seems ok, and though I have been really serious to stay under, going a few calories over (like on Saturday) doesn't have the same impact as going a few calories over on 1500 - so hopefully this will work for a while.

I think you're right, lowering it a little really makes you think about it when you see that RDI percentage creeping up as you add to it. Personally I think you need a few 'over' days every once in a while, it's not like you're going mad on 2 dozen doughnuts but having a few nice things which push you a little bit over every now and again is inevitable - and keeps you sane I think :-) This Saturday is the big day, It wasn't really ideal having the hens so close to the wedding but with so many overseas folk only just arriving it couldn't be helped. I know what you mean about them though, I went to one last month and they had a stripper who had not a hair on his body except his head....weird! Massive steroid muscles...not attractive, and did things to the hen which would have got him a broken nose if he did it to me. I don't mean to sound all prude, I like a good laugh but that type of thing isn't my cup of tea at all. I had a pool table and a dart board as my entertainment so that's my idea of fun haha.

As long as you keep your percentage of RDI in the green every month, you are on track - especially if this is a permanent lifestyle we are working towards...definitely need a sanity day or weekend every so often :)

Justine: Yes, I guess we do need the over days, but it seems to be that I get out of my eating-in-moderation mindset, and get back to my old destructive thinking "Whats the point.. I went badly yesterday anyway" and it takes some real mental struggle to say to myself, "well, start again. " - I think once I have gotten a few more kg's off, I will give myself a day off. Our anniversary is coming up - maybe then! Speaking of anniversaries- Saturday! Wow! That is pretty exciting! I hope that you are not stressed about it at all... I found that the best way to deal with it (even though ours was tiny) was to just go with the flow, instead of trying to make things exactly as I imagined. Sorry if that is kind of obvious advice. A hairless (excluding head), steroid stripper.. yurk! Don't worry - I don't think you are a prude, it isn't my cup of tea either! Happily that last hens did not have a stripper: hairless or otherwise, but it sort of turned into this cocktail-swilling-passive aggressive-pink wearing- OMG your nails/shoes/hair look fabulous-karaoke-competitive party. Granted, I only knew a few people there, who are not usually like that, but it just got overtaken.. EEEP! Anyway - if we don't chat before the weekend, I hope that you have a marvelous day!
