Self Lesson #1: Planning is important.
Today I went to get my mid snack, a whole wheat bagel and fat free cream cheese. Well all my whole wheat bagels were gone! (My kids, who never ate bagels all of a sudden like them since they discovered cream cheese). Well, it caused me to change my snack to 1/4 cup of trail mix and 1/2 cup of chex mix - while this is a great snack, I did not plan it and as a result I will eat 50 grams of fat today. As I am typing this I am realizing it is really not a big deal. But it is worth acknowledging for future reference.
