I have to write this down... yesterday I had a slice of a delicious carrot cake... and in the evening a bowl of low fat chocolate ice cream... and regardless of that I consumed only 901kcal in the whole day.... and this morning my weight stayed the same. Not even 0.5lbs up! All that to say that we can do it from time to time if we manage to count the calories and if we are limited to the quantity of the food we eat. So, count everything that you eat... if you eat a little more every day... it does count and it will show on your scale sooner or later.
However, no ice cream or cakes for me today :) I have to play on the safe side.
