Weight is down to 225 this morning, a new low since May. Doing 16:8 fast this morning and planning another day eating under my RDI. Tomorrow is "official" weigh in for the week. A couple more pounds and I'll be over halfway to my current goal of 190 lbs.
I saw my doctor yesterday for the first time since starting weight loss in May. His words for my progress and lab test results: "very impressive." He asked what it was I was doing that was making a difference. I told him a combination of change in diet, exercise, and using some online tools including the Fatsecret website. I've got a follow up appt. in 3 months, hopefully by that time I might be able to start getting off some of the medications I'm taking. Actually, I've already halved my blood pressure medication on my own, monitor my pressure every day and it's been great on half the medication.
Last February/March I had a hard time walking, had to rock to one side and partly lift, partly swing my left leg to take a stride due to my back injury. Yesterday while I was taking my walk during lunch I actually started jogging for a little bit. That might not seem like much but I didn't know if I'd be able to do it again. My back issues continue to get better over time and I know it's a combination of healing/weight loss/strengthening through exercise. Just another positive thing to take note of, that keeps me motivated to continue on this change in lifestyle to be a better, healthier, happier person.
Hope everyone has a great day - do what is in your power to make it that way.

Great News JMB. My Doctor told me years ago that if I lose the weight, I wouldn't have to take the Meds. After losing 70 lbs since April, and exercising regularly, I no longer have to take Diabetes Medication and am working on cutting my Blood Pressure meds (currently 1/2 dose). My cholesterol is still a little buggy, but its getting better. He told me last visit that my sugar levels are back to pre-diabetic levels like I never had diabetes before. I also told him about FATSECRET and he said he already recommended it to a couple of patients. About your Blood Pressure medication, be careful about changing your dose. I'm on Metoprolol Tartrate 50 mg (generic for Lopressor) and he told me you have to be weaned off Blood Pressure Meds and you can't suddenly stop. Good luck with your meds and keep up the good work.
