100% I also follow a lady on YouTube called "The lean girl" also the CICO method. she shares many recipes as well that keep you full for longer with low calories.

CICO is the way to go , personally . Very sustainable way of losing weight and keeping it off . I eat everything, in a calorie deficit. I do try and target over 100g for my protein . I don't fuss too much about carbs and fats .
Last night I had a slice of cake .Guilt free because i had budgeted for it in my calories . I love CICO

Thanks everyone for your suggestions !
(sidenote: nothing against anyone who does keto, it just is not sustainable for me at all)

@anisa Same, last year I startrd losing weight with Cico and it worked...however my dad was pushed by his doctor to do Keto so we all switched. I lost a lot very quickly and then picked up about twenty kilos in the space of three months due to binge eating.

Is cico not just basic calorie deficit stuff? The tried and tested method of losing weight? Why does it have a new name?

Lol CICO is basically being in a calorie deficit. It's not a new name . It's calories in vs calories out (CICO). Which is basically the fundamental basis of being in a calorie deficit. It's just another way of saying it

Totally agree. I tried keto last year. Would lose the first week or two and then it would slow down dramatically. very restrictive. not for everybody. I also ended up with lots of bingeing episodes although that's still something I'm working on...I think keto and low calorie diets have their place for people with insulin resistance and a few other issues...but if you have no real heath problems...start with basic calorie deficit and keep the protein high to minimise muscle loss.

yes. me too. u always thought calory counting was a horrible way to live so i never tried it. in fact it is the easiest way. you simply need to learn to budget your calories like you need to learn to budget everything else like your time and your money. then you can basically rat what you want and it's not restrictive at all. the only thing is you stilly need to make healthier swaps because you can't ru. far in bad calories. still you can keep getting better at it. i love it
