This journal entry is for women's eyes only. Does anyone else have a ridiculously difficult time staying on a diet during their period? I really do, all I want is sweets and potato chips. I am trying to avoid these items or substitute with healthier alternatives but it is difficult. Any advice?

Well, it happen to me too, all i want is chocolate, cheetos and hot chili sweets :P, so in those days i tried to avoid dinner also all my drinks are diet or water, here you have a wonderful tool to know how many calories you eat and how many calories you burn, so theres the key.
I tried all diets in the world and the more effective is low calorie.

Yes Yes Yes I totally agree with you!!
I'm being tortured by the monthly curse at the moment and I am having a really tough time trying resisting HUGE, GIGANTIC binge-urges.
I know I didn't do well yesterday calorie wise, but that was only because I decided to go drinking. My calories from food were not so bad. But it was hard work.
The way I did it was everytime a binge urge came yesterday, I focused on the moment. I told myself that I only had to get through this moment. Rather than being defeatist and thinking 'God I cannot do this, I may as well binge its not going to make a difference because I am useless and fat. And anyway I have my period so I deserve it' I thought 'If I get through this moment and manage to make it through JUST today then I have managed a whole day and that will hopefully set me up for another good day. And if it doesn't well then at least I have had ONE good day this week haha!!
Good luck and I hope you feel better :-)

Thanks, guys! I feel better knowing I'm not alone. I'm new to this site and so far it's done nothing but make me feel like I can finally conquer this weight problem.

I have the same problem! I just try to have on hand as many low-calorie substitutions as I can. 100 calorie packs of snacks, fat-free chocolate pudding, and a variety of flavored yogurts. If that doesn't work for me, and sometimes it doesn't, then I tell myself then I will have to WALK to the store to get whatever it is.
