jmb3450's Journal, 17 Jun 14

Went shopping with my wife last night and I bought a pair of 38 jeans. They fit, wearing them today, and it feels good! Losing the weight and getting into better physical condition is a long and relatively slow process so we need to recognize and celebrate the little milestones and victories along the way.

This might be premature to say but it seems the scale may finally be cooperating with me again. We'll see on Friday morning weigh-in, I hope it continues. Yesterday was a killer at work, I unpacked, sorted and staged 200 computers and by the time I got home my back was shot so I didn't exercise. Today feels better, I'm hoping to get my normal walk in and do time on the elliptical tonight. Finished dinner at 6:00 last night and doing 16:8 fast today through Friday. I won't have much free time at work for a while now, I'll try to give support to my buddies here as much as I'm able to. Hoping everyone has a great day, as Captain Picard says, "Make it so!"

That's good Jim. My 38s are going from tight to snug. Working on getting them to loose and then on to 36s. You will get there.

Man awesome. Your already soundling like someone who has this figured out! Whatever you do don't what I did and go spend a bunch of money on new jeans because your all excited to be back into your highschool size. I now have over a hundred dollars of jeans that are all too big again. I still wear them but I should have waited. We could have worse problems though! :)

That's GREAT! It is such an awesome feeling when you can finally start to see your progress in something tangible! I don't know what it does for you but for me I feel like pushing even harder to get to the next level. Its an amazing thing that you are managing to do keep the good job!

Awesome! Its always great to drop a size...even better when the first number drops. Going from 40 something to 30 something waist size gives you a great feeling. Congratulations on your great success!

Thanks everyone. I think I need another pair of jeans, these feel so good I don't want to wear my baggy 40's anymore. Too bad they're not on sale.

jmb... many of us go to Good Will and get clothes to hold us over. I'm still doing it and will donate them. Picked up a shirt the other day while donating a bag of baggies I purchased last summer.

Ah, a fellow Trekker! Do you eat burnt, replicated bird meat? I do, without the skin of course! ;) Unpacking 100 computers sure sounds to me like some great exercise. I agree, don't worry about missing your "official" exercise routines. Brent, Good Will is a great idea, or Craig's List, for your unwanted jeans, & other clothes. Congratulations, & keep it up!

I've gotten a few things at Good Will and other places like that, pants in my size can be tough as I have a short inseam but that's a good idea. Glammer, I'm a Trekker from way back! I used to turn on the surround sound and watch Next Generation, with the sounds of the ship coming through the surround you could imagine you were there with them in the Great Unknown. :)

Nice to see it somewhere other than on the scale. I remember downsizing. It was exciting. :)

I'm still living on the reruns during the weekend. Next Generation was always my fav of all the Star Trek Shows.

I'd say you got a workout. Be kind to that back, Buddy; it has a way of turning on you when you get older.

I thought "Enterprise" was looking up just as they cancelled it. Sexy vulcan. How do you lose. :)
