That’s only half a pound... little ole me can put away a half pound burger when I’m super hungry lol. Fish is something I avoid after eating fish as a kid and being sick for days after.

Norwegian here. Growing up we always had pickled herring on holidays and every Sunday dinner at grandma's. It was always a part of the meal along with the primary protein source. A serving size was usually less than half an ounce would be my guess. Maybe 2-3 1 inch square pieces. YUM !

Ah, I wasn’t sure on the calories. I’d wondered at the cane or beet sugar and I’ve no experience with wine calories.

Not Norwegian, but love all this stuff except the really stinky fermented one.

Dad was Norwegian and Swedish. He loved herring. I never quite liked it much. Fried kippers yes.

I’ve wanted to try Scandinavian food. I’m a fan of combinations that most people would consider unusual in the United States, and Scandinavian food is not a popular restaurant cuisine which is why I think I’d like it so much.
