Sandy701's Journal, 25 Dec 10

Merry Christmas everyone! My planned indiscretion yesterday resulted in a draw at the scale...pretty much within normal daily variation for me, so that's good. So far, no cravings, no sleepiness after eating, etc. that would signal a major shift in metabolism. But I know I need to be careful, as it would be so-o-o easy to think I'm immune to the effects of carbs and could continue eating off plan. That's what's happened at least once before in my lifetime and it would be easy for it to happen again.

Today I'm on plan, even managing to get a 3.1 mile walk in this AM before the rains came in. DH, however, misunderstood me talking about being off plan for Christmas. He thought it meant the whole weekend and so he gave me 2 small boxes/bags of full-carb chocolate treats in my stocking. I've had 1 piece today and that added 10 full carbs to the day!!! Plus the added sugar in there, as well. I plan to focus on protein and water and should be able to keep my numbers in line. But I know from past experience that just because the carbs/calories/percentages come out correctly doesn't mean everything's fine. That added sugar and the larger amount of carbs ingested at one time can still do "damage."

Enjoy the weekend, everybody.
