Walked another 3.3 miles; weekly total now 14.0 and challenge total 68.3 miles.

Yesterday I reintroduced sugar alcohols in a dessert after dinner. Had an Atkins bar this afternoon, just like I used to do, too. However, I resisted the ReddiWip today - Yeah me! The Atkins bar just fits in so well for me in the afternoon. Today, I used it between giving my dogs a bath and their grooming sessions. I felt I needed a snack but it had to be quick.

My dogs look so-o-o great right now, I wish I could keep them that way. But I know they'll be wrestling around on the ground, running through the bushes and hopping into the pool all too soon. My wash-n-wear gal is no big deal; she cleans up very nicely and fairly quickly. But my male is another story altogether. He has a fairly short coat for his breed, maybe I'd call it medium long. The coat and all his undercoat make getting him well-rinsed after a shampoo very difficult and it takes a LOT of time and water. He also needs rather time-consuming grooming afterward. Basically, my entire afternoon was spent on getting them both cleaned up and then cleaning up the bathroom, the towels, vacuuming the hair from the floor, etc. Tiring, but I like the results.

I have 4 big dogs that could use a bath and brushing! We live in the woods and they get into the briars, brambles, and bushes where rabbits wouldn't go! lol Great job. So, how have the sugar alcohols gone?

So far, no problem. I never felt I had any problem with them before. It was just that 2 days went by the other week when I realized I hadn't had any, so I thought to give them up for a week to see if it made any difference. At first, I thought it did, as I lost 2 pounds last week and seemed on the brink of dropping a third! But I've just stayed at 188 a bit longer than I expected, almost as if it's going to all even out at a 1 pound loss per week, just like usual. So, if that's the case, I might as well enjoy the products with sugar alcohols, if they seem to fit into my routine. That slightly larger than usual loss may also have been due to me keeping total carbs in the 20's (lower than usual) that week. I wasn';t trying to do that, it just happpened. I might play around with that a bit, next.

That's interesting. Wonder what the result of you eating 25 grams or less a day would be? I just wish I could eat them. Man, what I wouldn't do for one of the brownies. lol

Instead of eating a whole bar, have either of you tried just a bite or two and put the rest away for the next day? Just a thought. I have 10 dogs total, but have to keep them in a big pen when outside otherwise, in the poop from the farm animals they go. NASTY!!!!! Just can't have them kissing me after eating poop. (gagging) Not a good sight either if they should happen to escape and roll around in it. Enough about that, I do want to eat breakfast at some point today. Well, have a wonderful day.:)

Laurie, the bar that I enjoy is already so small, I doubt I could make it into 2-3 bites!! LOL! I wish I had the box from a few months ago so I could compare the net weight to the "new" batch - I swear they made them even smaller. I can't imagine 10 dogs, as I think I have a hard time with the "proper care and maintenance" of 2 grown, relatively well-behaved ones. I think my gal would defintely go for farm poop if she had access. We had a bit of a problem with that when she was a young pup - and we don't have a farm, if you know what I mean. She was fine the first several weeks we had her - until it got really cold and there was some frost. She discovered poop-sicles! YUCK!!! Well...that was one habit we had to get rid of ASAP. She's been "cured" for some time now but I wouldn't put it past her to give in to the temptation if she were on a farm. Well, enough of that nasty stuff. Ah, the joys of dog ownership!!! Funny thing....they never write about that in the "So You'd Like to Buy a Puppy" books!
