These days are really spoiling me because they are just so beautiful. Sunny, breezy and the temp was again nearly 70 when I went out this AM. Walked 3.1 miles; weekly total now 6.4 miles and challenge total 61.7 miles.

I goofed up on eating yesterday. I didn't go over on anything, but I got so busy in the afternoon, that I didn't have a snack and my dinner was delayed until nearly 7:30. As a result, I feel my carbs and calories all came too close together and too late in the day. I need to focus on keeping everything spread out throughout the day. As a result, my weight is up a fractional pound. It's no biggie, but I'd rather not have that happen.

I also did too much physical work yesterday in the yard and I'm pretty sore. We have these nasty vines that are thorny and they get into and around everything!!! They're basically nasty weeds and they don't really pull out of the ground, you need to dig them up. Well I tackled the ones that had entwined themselves into a side hedge. I had my leather gloves on anyway, as I was doing a major trim job on the hedge and had to haul away the branches. Leather gloves are the only way to handle those vines.

I really have a major peeve about people who have fully landscaped yards and then don't take care of them. The previous owners of this house should have done a lot of work near this hedge - and they didn't. So now, there are all sorts of small bushes, even small trees growing up in places where they're crowding what is supposed to be growing there. If you get rid of these things when they're small, it's no big deal. But if you just ignore them, then they get a whole lot bigger in this climate and we get the problems we have now. I have a LOT of landscape work ahead of me, just to get everything back to the way it looks like it was designed. And all because the previous owners just let it all go for the almost 2 years they owned the place. At least the weather is perfect for doing this sort of thing. Unfortunately, my body can't handle so much physical labor, so I'll need to pace myself.
