Sandy701's Journal, 17 Jun 13

Rudely awakened this AM by a very loud thunderstorm. Between all the loud banging and clashing outside, I also had a big Collie standing over my face (gee, thanks!) and a Lab whose shaking was like someone using the bed as a trampoline (poor baby!). No way to sleep through all that so I got up just as the REALLY big thunderclaps hit. Wow....made me jump!

Luckily, the storm was short-lived, so I could actually walk the dogs. Although everything was still wet, it was also wonderfully cool - well, I suppose "cool" is a relative term. But it was still a lot cooler than it's been this past week. We hit that time period when it's not raining and the temperature is rain-cooled, but before the sun really breaks through the clouds and makes everything extra-steamy.

Lots of housework to be done today and then I'll head to the thrift store for my volunteer time this afternoon.

GG, I actually ran about 5 paces yesterday, but decided my shoes are not supportive enough on the heels. They're pretty worn out and I should be starting to break in a new pair, but haven't. Don't know if I'll ever really do a run, but yesterday, I just felt like the music I was listening to made me want to move more quickly (must have been an effect of some sort of virus or something - LOL!).

Bren, that sounds like what I'm beginning to do with my Lab. The Collie is usually in his kennel, but DH was already up and had let him out, so he was free to "protect" me.

Poor babies, I know animals hate thunder, me too. Glad it was short and that you got your walk in before it got too hot and or wet again.

Sandy...good shoes are a must for me & with the miles you log, for you too. Tootsies need to be comfy, yes, indeed they do!

Lovely awakening with the collie and the lab. Made me giggle. But not the storm. Ugh. Glad you got the walk in. What kind of shoes are you thinking of. I need new shoes too and I'm without ideas. I guess I was thinking something I could use a Nike Sensor with.
