SO for the last week or so, Ive been doing 80% very low carb. The other time (like first thing in the morning before my omelette) I might have some watermelon or berries. Or I might have a no fat pita with veges for lunch. To snack, Im eating a handful of nuts. I dont know if its a fluke, but I do not crave carbs. Yeah, it must be a fluke b/c Im due for TOM tomorrow... So nothing much has changed.. I simply cannot get over the nagging feeling in my head about: 1. I have an eating disorder where I binge, do low carb, binge, etc. I obsess about what the scale says, and quite frankly, this cannot be healthy.
2. There has to be a healthier way to eat that incorporates fruit and grains....
So, if I eat fruit, it is first in the morning..a good 45 minutes before I eat my omlette. And if I eat carbs like a no fat pita, it will be 3 hours before and after a protein/fat meal. Im trying not to limit my veges/protein/fat intake..but also to incorporate other healthy God-given foods. This past week has not left me hungry nor craving sweets. I havent even touched chocolate or any baked goods...not even a low-carb bar! I simply feel satisfied.
Have I lost weight? NO. That currently isnt my goal. Im eating for health first and if weight loss follows, great!
I also signed up for a Virginia Tech health study. They are sending a pedometer and digital scale to me; all I have to do is track my exercise and eating progress. Im sure they want me to do an AHA diet based on the questions they asked, but I wont be making carbs the greater part of my diet. I am convinced low-carb is the best eating style.
I seriously need to feel peace in my life with eating. Im so messed up in the head going on crazy diets, and it just isnt healthy. SO Im trying to cure myself by putting priorities first and eating to heal.
When we crazy-diet, we lose bone mass, some get depressed b/c their serotonin levels are depleted (low serotonin correlates with high insulin spikes), and not to mention screwed up metabolisms and thyroid conditions.
Im done with it.
