10 yrs and 12 inches of intestines gone. The bloat after the attack and subsequent antibiotics can really mess with any diet plan. I use isometrics to relieve the abdominal cramping, warm compresses, plenty of water and apple cider vinegar. Hope this helps.

Like Yasmine said it's a life condition but it's doable. I feel great and the attacks have become less now that I'm eating cleaner.

Diverticulitis is so painful. I got it on holiday in Hilton Head (little did I know that eating tins and tins of delicious cashew nuts could be a factor in getting and incredibly nasty.condition). So I do really feel for you.

There’s nothing worse then being in pain so if taking antibiotics will stop it but you may gain a little weight in the process I’d say that’s a fair swop you’ll get back on track and lose it again, your health is the first and only priority nothing else, you’ll be fine 👍

Aw thank you all 💜 yes jimporter, at least for me. It kills bacteria, including good bacteria in your gut. Another side effect would be thrush because it kills the good bacteria.

Hi I have just been diagnosed with this -do you poo blood after a diarrhea spell ?

Stay on top of it Yasmine! My wife had it to the point of developing a leak in her intestine, requiring emergency surgery.

Lomond, I have. I had an op 2 years ago and keyhole surgery to sew back up a perforated bowel. That's when I was diagnosed. I get very ill if I eat a lot of oily food or drink cider. Those are the only things that seem to affect me. I don't know what caused it this time. And I'm also not supposed to eat seeds, cause they can get trapped.
