Hello, I am new to the Shangri-la Diet. I have started the sugar water one hour after breakfast and the ELOO one hour after lunch. Certaily seems to be suppressing my appetite. Concerned about the sugar as on other diets sugar is a no no. Have people had good results just doing ELOO or is the combination better. Also has anyone found it better to take them one hour before eating rather than one hour after?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I don't do the sugar water. I know there are a lot of benefits to including olive oil in your diet. I have also noticed that 1 hr before will litterally cut my appetite for the meal, but if I take it an hour after, it tends to curb my snacking. Good luck!

The important thing with the sugar water is to drink it slowly so your blood sugar does not do the spike-crash trick. For me, it doesn't matter what time of day or whether it is before or after a meal, as long as there is an hour before and an hour after that is flavorless. For sugar water, that hour after starts when you finish it, not when you start it. I also don't notice a difference between sugar water and ELOO except that I can drink more flavorless calories with ELOO than sugar water. For me it doesn't matter what type, only how many calories. ELOO alone can do the job better than only sugar water though, at least for me. ELOO - 1 tbsp = 120 calories sugar - 1 tbsp = 45 calories
